House of Bubbles - Premium Subscription Webshop for Sparkling Wine
Premium WooCommerce subscription webshop for sparkling wine, with a custom recurring billing system via Mollie and a configurator offering eighteen box combinations for business and consumer customers.
Visit WebsiteHouse of Bubbles is the subscription brand of founder Rutger Wetsteijn, built around B.A.A.S. (Bubbles As A Service): premium sparkling wines delivered on a recurring schedule, for companies that want to appreciate their people and for consumers who never want to miss a reason to celebrate. For the launch, House of Bubbles needed a webshop that holds the premium feel of the brand while handling a subscription model WooCommerce does not support out of the box.
The webshop
A calm, premium webshop in olive, espresso and champagne gold, built around the brand story. Business customers get their own entry point with company fields at checkout, consumers a more direct route to their own box. Both audiences automatically see the right price display: excluding VAT for business, including VAT for consumers.
Build your own box
In three steps the customer builds their own box: size, level and delivery frequency, with a price-neutral option to swap one bottle for a premium alcohol-free alternative. Behind that simplicity sit eighteen possible combinations, all of them orderable in the shop.
Smart under the hood
Without the expensive WooCommerce Subscriptions licence, a custom recurring billing system was built directly against Mollie’s own Subscriptions API. The first payment automatically establishes a direct debit mandate, after which renewals run on their own. It was fully tested with a real order before going live. Shipping runs through PostNL with the legally required age check for selling alcohol.
