1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit a website. They help websites remember who you are and what your preferences are, so you don't have to enter the same information every visit.

2. Why does Marketing Maatwerk use cookies?

• Technical functioning: some cookies are necessary for the website to work properly.
• User experience: I use cookies to remember your preferences, such as your cookie choice.
• Analytics and improvement: with your consent, I use cookies to analyse how visitors use my website.
• Security: cookies help me protect my website and your data against unauthorised access.

3. Which cookies does this website use?

A. Necessary cookies (always active)

• mm_cookie_consent: stores your cookie choice so you do not have to make it again every visit. Retention: 365 days.
• WordPress session cookies (PHPSESSID, wordpress_*): only active if you log in to the admin area. Deleted when you close your browser.

B. Measuring without cookies (always active, fully anonymous)

I count how often a page is viewed, how often a request comes in and how often someone lands on a page that does not exist. For that, nothing is stored on or read from your device: no cookie, no session number, no identifier that could link two visits together. No IP address is stored either. What is recorded is the page path, the time, the device type and screen width, and the campaign labels if you arrive through a link with utm parameters.

Because this count places no information on your device and cannot be traced to a person, it falls outside the consent requirement. Why it exists: if I only measured visitors who click "Accept all", I would be steering on a skewed picture that leaves out exactly the privacy-conscious visitor.

C. Detailed measurement (only with your consent)

If you choose "Accept all", I also measure how a visit unfolds: which pages you view in sequence, how far you scroll, which sections come into view, which buttons and links you hover over or click, how long a page is actually open, and where you came from (the website name only, not the full link). These cookies are used for that:

• mm_analytics_sid: a random number to recognise returning visits. Retention: 395 days.
• mm_sessie: a random number that keeps one visit together. Expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.
• mm_variant: remembers which version of a page you were shown if I ever test two variants side by side. Retention: 90 days.

This measurement system is mine and runs on my own server. No data goes to Google Analytics or any other external statistics platform, nothing is sold on, and there is no link with advertising networks. No IP addresses are stored and no fingerprinting is applied. All measurement data is deleted automatically after 13 months.

D. Marketing and advertising cookies

I do not use them. There is no Google Analytics, no Google Ads, no Meta pixel and no other form of advertising or tracking technology on this website.

4. Third-party services

There is only one component from another party on this website, and it loads only when you ask for it yourself:

• Google Calendar (booking appointments): the calendar only appears after you click a button to book a call, or after you send a request. As long as you do not, nothing is fetched from Google and Google places no cookies. If you do open the calendar, Google's privacy terms apply.

Fonts and icons load from my own server, not from Google Fonts or any other external service. Your browser therefore makes no connection to a third party as long as you do not open the calendar.

5. How long are cookies kept?

• mm_cookie_consent (your cookie choice): 365 days.
• mm_analytics_sid (recognising returning visits): 395 days.
• mm_sessie (keeping one visit together): 30 minutes of inactivity.
• mm_variant (which version of a page you saw): 90 days.
• WordPress session cookies (only when logging in): until you close your browser.
• The measurement data itself (not the cookies, but what sits on my server): 13 months, then deleted automatically.

6. How can you manage and delete cookies?

Through the cookie banner on your first visit, you can choose necessary cookies only, accept all cookies, or configure them by category. You can also always manage cookies through your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari — via Privacy & Security > Cookies). Note: if you block all cookies, some website functions may work less well.

7. Why I do not use Google Analytics

I measure things myself, with a system that runs on my own server. That is a deliberate choice: your visit to my website is nobody's business but yours and mine. So no data goes to Google Analytics or any comparable platform, and there is nothing to sell on or link to advertising.

I use the data purely to see which pages work and which do not, so I can improve the website.

8. Changes to this cookie policy

I may update this cookie policy from time to time, for example when I start using new cookies or when legislation changes. You'll always find the latest version on this page.
